Our Chinese bilingual approach is of long standing.  The school week is divided evenly between lessons in Chinese and English and students are taught a range of subjects Chinese.

Children learn conversational as well as written Chinese and participate in various Chinese cultural activities, often performing Chinese language plays and songs for the school as well as the wider community.

Benefits of a Chinese – English Bilingual Education

Research using neuroscience and other methods suggests that learning a second language — even at a later age than previously thought — has additional learning benefits for students. There is no doubt that speakers of more than one language have nimble brains.  Bilingualism enhances attention and cognitive control in kids and adults.  Also Those people that are bilingual are better at learning additional languages, even if those languages bear little resemblance to the ones they already know. Psychology Today (October 2010; psychologytoday.com) 

In many parts of the world, multilingualism is the norm rather than the exception.  For example, most children in Switzerland speak several languages.  English and Chinese, however, are two of the most commonly spoken languages in the world. 

Australia is a multicultural society and is in a unique position within the Asia Pacific region, with relatively easy access to many Asian countries including China.  The ability to communicate in more than one language is a valuable asset for future career development, especially in education, business, commerce, foreign and government.

An English-Chinese Bilingual education exposes children to the richness of both western and eastern cultures, their literature, customs, festivals and heritage.
